Changes of Heart Community Workshop:
BSM delights in hosting the Philadelphia Artists' Collective and their productions often throughout the year, and as an extension of that, we're excited to announce a special collaborative art workshop. The workshop is connected to the PAC's production of Changes of Heart, written by Pierre de Maurivaux. The play tells the story of a few characters for whom "love strikes, identities are mistaken, and madness ensues!" and the hilarious and touching ways that their stories intersect. The workshop is a unique way to participate in the production itself (with no acting required!). Madeline Adams, PAC's Artist in Residence, will be walking participants through a process of painting in layers, with the end goal of creating a work of art that is included as part of the set. The paintings created will be inspired and informed by the experience of sitting in open rehearsals and observing how the play develops over several sessions.
Join us and get a sneak peek into the world of theater production, learn from and work with a talented artist and teacher, and explore the ways in which themes and processes of the play influence our ways of thinking, relating, and art-making.
No "artsy" skills needed! Open to all.
