Lent 2013: Uncovering and Crafting Our Spiritual Position Descriptions

Join us this Lenten Season...

Have you ever considered how a “position description” might apply to your spiritual life and not just your vocation?  Have you ever considered that God may have a particular spiritual position that you can fill?  Is it possible that God has you in mind for a unique role as a disciple--one where who you are and everything you have been through to this point in your journey is preparing you for this role?  During this season in Lent we will invite you to explore in community whether this might be true for you and what this role might entail and how you might begin to pursue this role.  By probing the witness of scripture, we will see how God has used people's past experiences (positive ones, negative ones and even devastating ones) to unleash a particular blessing in the world.  We will consider how God has made people with particular characteristics--both positive and perhaps even negative--that equip them to fulfill what God has in mind at the time for them.  At the end of this Lenten season, it is our hope that we can share our findings and creative ways we can support each other as we attempt to be faithful to our calling.

Sunday, February 24:  Past Experiences--Good and Bad that God uses to prepare us

Sunday, March 3:  The People Around Us:  How God uses mentors and friends to inspire and challenge us

Sunday, March 10:  Talent, time and Disposition:  How God gives us gifts of the spirit to equip us

Sunday, March 17:  God chooses what is weak:  How even our weaknesses can be aid us with God's help 

Sunday, March 24: Palm/Passion Sunday

Sunday, March 31: Easter
