week of 3/21/10

God of abundant love,
Traveling through the Lenten season is not without its potholes and endless abysses. As we approach the cross, some of us walk or crawl. We trip, we stumble, and we fall down with the weariness of this world. We move through this world but often feel as though we are stuck in one place. This place is isolated, dark, and void of life. Find us in this darkness Lord as we cry out to you with these prayers:

I pray for my father to heal, to be faithful, honest & loving to my mother & to GOD.
I pray for my mom's recovery, For her to be able to trust. To forgive, to find confidence, strength & to be whole.

Dear God
I feel that I have said and thought this a lot recently, but I just cannot thank you enough for all the wonderful things that have come into my life recently. While transitioning into a new phase of life isn’t always easy, I feel blessed that you have helped make things as smooth as possible and I can’t begin to thank you enough for that.

Lord, help him find a job that will work around his vocational job . . . empower him to be healthy, lead him into joy and peace and deep purpose.
Help me help him dream.

Please pray For my relationship for continued growth. And, pray for justice that it may come.

Thank you in advance for your prayers for continued good health & wisdom.

Help me to manage my time & focus better. Teach me patience and understanding—that I may Know You more deeply

Lord—send your Holy Spirit upon our guests this week from Kentucky. May they be both a vessel and a carrier of your Holy Word.
Amen

Let the narrow minds be opened—so that they grasp the beauty in destruction.

For -------- as he continues to recover. Keep him Strong
For my family. We are hurting & we need you Lord. We need you.

Christ Jesus,
Who enters into our suffering, not to smooth these places over but to pull us out, to uproot us in order to establish a new community rooted in grace and love. Create something new within us. Help us find acceptance, community, love, and friendship. The story does not end at the cross but moves through your glorious resurrection. Move with us Lord. Draw us closer to a right relationship with you and with one another. In your strong name, we boldly pray. Amen.
