Lord, as we enter this season of waiting and anticipation, we realize we are familiar with waiting, waiting for something, anything good to happen. We wait for You or someone else to crash into our lives and make it all better. And yet You call us to wait for Your revelation with expectation, not passive frustration. Help us to pray these prayers with a sense of passion that You are already and will continue to move and work in the midst of these triumphs and sorrows:
For the healing of ---------- ---------- who suffers from lung cancer. That he may find peace and comfort in his affliction.
For ----------'s wife ----------- that she may feel God's love & His presence as she abides w/her husband in his affliction.
For ----------, she may garner favor with her inflexible accounting professor this semester.

I rejoice over the reunion with my classmates after our break from school. Again I pray for my professors and classmates dealing with illness & injury. Because tonight we begin a new church year, I pray that my own heart, my own life may experience new beginnings and renewed beginnings.
