week of 9/12/10

Lord, we look at the way in which You have been faithful to the sinners-turned-saints through so many years, joys, tears, and aches, and we are grateful. These testimonies give us hope, but more than that, they embolden us to claim that You do listen, You do hear, and You do respond, when everything else in this world is telling us the opposite.

Be with us, and hear these prayers of Your saints:

I really want a church family.

I just feel alone.

I'm starting school soon and I ask for guidance, and a job so I can pay for it.

Thank you.

That I may continue on God's path for my life and not stray. That I may remain steadfast in my convictions. Amen.

Also that my boyfriend and I may bond in faith. That faith may further bring us together. That God may make clear whether he blesses this relationship or not.

Amen.

She is on the recovery but all prayers and thoughts will help. I also pray for the upcoming marriage of my sister-in-law on Sept 25th

I feel that I have forsaken God in some ways these past few weeks. Forgive me.

God--be with those who are seeking refuge from war, famine, oppression, and grief. You are a sanctuary. Please, would you build a sanctuary within me, with us.

There is so much to do but I have so little energy or passion to do it. tired of being sad Lord, especially for so little reason.

OH Father,

For so very long I searched for what I thought was missing in my life. I looked to others to make me whole and I looked to things to fill the void. But it was You I was looking for. Because I am complete, for You made me.

sometimes it still feels like yesterday

the panic, the ambulance lights, my mother's voice on the phone.

Jesus, I praise You for participating in my healing. For walking with me to the very bottom of this wound and back. I praise You for Your faithfulness. Amen

Lord, I praise you for the love ----------- and ----------- have found in each other. Bless their new marriage.

I thank You for that check that came on Saturday. Help me to trust that all this is real, it is happening.

Heal the hearts & bodies of ----------, -----------, -------------, -----------, ----------, -----------, -------------, -----------, ----------, -----------, -------------, -----------, and all the faces in my heart whose names I can't remember.

Courage & strength, Lord. Courage & strength, please. Amen

Lord you are powerful and loving so I must ask for healing--surely you want us to be well. If you cannot provide what we ask Lord would you give wisdom and understanding? If we cannot have wisdom perhaps if nothing else--compassion. I lack all of these...

I pray for direction on my career path and I pray that those who have shared your light with me are blessed.

Please pray for my friend ------------. He lost his grandmother & is heartbroken. Please pray for my friend ---------- he lost his father & is devastated. Please pray for me to have wisdom, love and strength--thank you.

God, I feel like I always come to you when I need something, or maybe it's just that I notice myself turning to you in those times. Now is another one of those. I am here to ask you to help me on the tests I face in the next few days and to help me let go of the stress I've been carrying around. Amen.

Your plan is best for me, what then should I get rid of to be on that path?

I have a friend who is going through a difficult time. On the verge of a divorce with his drug-addicted wife and in the middle of a probation violation, he needs prayer. God is already working in his life, but my heart hurts when I think of him right now. He needs the support and strength of God and the prayers of as many as possible. The friend's name is ------------.

I'm sad that my Mom and Grandma are at each other's throats. My Mom needs to understand and my Grandma needs to be nice.

I'm running out of money and it sucks to be worrying about that.

Jesus, You call us not just to think about how to live Your abundant life, but You call us to practice, practice, practice. So here is our attempt at testimony: We are facing tribulations and oppression. We are grief-stricken and heartbroken. Our bodies are sick, but we know that You bring healing. Our hearts are weak and wounded, but we know that You still reside within them, stitching them back together. Your day-in day-out commitment to us is deeper and more lasting than the strongest marriage we know, the closest parent-child relationship we've seen, the fiercest friendship we've heard of. You have been in relationship with us for a long time, even before we knew Your name, You loved us and committed Yourself to us. We are also happy and joyous. Our lives are full of love and beauty, but we could not see these without You opening our eyes. Our hearts and hopes are stronger and more resilient than we realize, but they would not be that way were it not for Your healing and work. We praise You for Your faithfulness, for Your beauty, for Your Love made manifest all throughout this world. Amen and Amen!
